That's main thing you have right: so many of the reproduction corset companies fail to realize that more adipose _around_ (as in a cup size) is more _up_and_down_ too. I've seen far too many corset patterns with nested side lines for sizing up, but nothing for a cup size going up! A a gore is perfectly fitted (intentional pun!) to accomplish that feat comfortably.

I am one of those (can't fit into an A cup) women you mention, even though I am not by most descriptions all that heavy.
