March 25, 2011 is the 100th Anniversary. Monday night PBS' show NOVA is featuring the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire. Check your PBS listing for the time in your area. For those not in the U.S. PBS generally runs the video online after the episode has aired.
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexperience/films/triangle/ Cornell University has had a website for years about the event but has updated with a newer version with audio from three witnesses to the fire. It is well worth listening. There is a lot of info about the event. I couldn't get the photo slideshows to work but viewed a photo and had to go back to the index. http://www.ilr.cornell.edu/trianglefire/story/introduction.html There are also some videos on YouTube about the fire. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vus4b8FRTKM <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vus4b8FRTKM&NR=1&feature=fvwp> &NR=1&feature=fvwp Penny Ladnier, owner The Costume Gallery Websites <http://www.costumegallery.com/> www.costumegallery.com 15 websites of fashion, costume, and textile history FaceBook: <http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Costume-Gallery-Websites/107498415961579> http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Costume-Gallery-Websites/107498415961579 _______________________________________________ h-costume mailing list h-costume@mail.indra.com http://mail.indra.com/mailman/listinfo/h-costume
