Hi Norwid, If you (or anyone else familiar with eqn) could work up specific examples showing where groff's eqn rendering could be improved, it would be very helpful if you would file those as bug reports in the groff bug tracker (http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?group=groff&func=additem). There's a specific Item Group called "Rendering/Cosmetics" for such issues.
