Ah. I'd never seen that before, and this URL was not in the GNU
"welcome aboard" email. Whoops!

(The mail did link to
<https://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Mail.html>, but the
material there doesn't note it either.)

I sure don't. Please go ahead.

Not sure I have the spoons for that.

I believe Werner is still a (or the) moderator of the lists, and I'm not
inclined to change that. In fact, while I'll probably add myself as a
list admin for i-dotting purposes, I am more than content to preserve
the moderation status quo in terms of who does it.

I _produce_ too much mail traffic to want to also have a responsibility
for screening what actually gets to the lists, at least in terms of
discussion threads.

The exception being, of course, to apply a blanket policy of truly
having bug-groff and groff-commit be reflectors only. Whether we can
automatically redirect non-Savannah mails to those lists to groff@
instead, or whether such mails have to go through moderation, is
something I guess I will find out.

I'll repeat given the Subject: change that the GNU onboarding team
encouraged me to create a new "info-groff" list for announcements. I
would expect this to be moderated as well, but to have a pretty generous
acceptance policy for things that are actually announcements of software
releases. (If/when I get around to that, I plan to ask the existing
moderators for our other lists if they're willing to take that one on
too since the marginal effort of doing so would be near zero.)

For instance, new groff releases and release candidates would be
announced on info-groff (as well as info-gnu for the former and
platform-testers for the latter), but messages like Robin Haberkorn's a
few days ago[1] also would be topical.

Regards,
Branden
