Hi Tom, last time, I already mentioned that e.g. the terminal has no problems creating mandatory ligatures with a regular Tibetan font.
I did not forget the issue, I am just under pressure to deliver work bound by a deadline, which will be another fortnight from now. Best regards, Oliver. On 04/02/2024 15:11, Tom wrote:
Hi Oliver and others, I don't have knowledge if the matter is about building ligatures. I have found out, that in some tibetan fonts there are already present stacked forms. Are they functional ligatures? If so perhaps one can go this route? Oliver what are your thoughts about it. Did you make any progress? For anyone interested, here is The Unicode Standard document. https://www.unicode.org/versions/Unicode15.0.0/ch13.pdf There is short chapter 13.4 and clear description how tibetan gliphs are stacked. I wonder if groff is able to stack few levels and build full head forms or half forms like in རྦ་ called ra-go. In groff ra-go is not recognized and shows in full form ར What only works for me in groff is that it stacks below baseline letter with one subjoined letter plus vowel above or vowel below. The second subjoined is overprinting first subjoined. Would be great if someone experienced in groff with fonts can answer if it is possible to stack letters in more then 2 levels? Perhaps there is another way to recognize stacked letters or just to use .char and similar functions? Regards, Tom
