Hi folks, I hadn't mentioned it in a while so I wanted to advise people of the availability of 20 PDF documents I keep up to date with groff's development in Git. For those who don't want to mess with fetching and building groff from source, and/or don't subscribe to (or have trouble following the traffic in) the groff-commit list, this can be a good way to keep abreast of changes.
It is also useful to see how changes in groff manifest in typeset documents, where applicable. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/17ftu3z31couf07/AAC_9kq0ZA-Ra2ZhmZFWlLuva These also feature the latest improvements in my ceaseless wordsmithing of our documentation. (I discovered two more CSTR #54 errata this week, for example.) I keep this stuff in a DropBox account and generally update it every time I push, so at least once a week on average. The following manuals are available in PDF: * GNU Troff Manual (our Texinfo manual) * the collected groff man pages * A "me" macro package tutorial (English and French versions) * A "me" macro package reference * A "ms" macro package tutorial and reference * Deri James's "sboxes" reference and exemplar All of the foregoing are typeset with groff Git HEAD at the time they're pushed, except the Texinfo manual. I also use enscript(1) to generate PDF forms of all of groff's ChangeLog files--the main one, and for each such file in a contrib/ directory. Finally, as an informal regression test, I maintain a PDF version of our grodvi(1) man page, formatted with "groff -T dvi". Please advise this list of any errors or doubtful changes you spot. Regards, Branden
