Hi folks, The 1.23 section of the groff "NEWS" file is about 560 lines long.
https://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/groff.git/tree/NEWS Some people won't read 500+ lines of text to decide if the new groff release interests them, so I'd like to hear your nominations for the items you consider most important, whether they're cool new features or frustrating backward-incompatible changes to be warned about, so that the 1.23(.0.rc2) announcement can fairly characterize the release. Also, if you notice something that's flat out _missing_ from the NEWS file, please say so, and note whether that item also passes the "Twitter test" of noteworthiness. (There's no way we'll fit into 160 characters, of course.) Remember that "bug fixes" (in sense of the remedies for software defects) are not considered "news" in the GNU sense. Approximately, anything in the Savannah item group "Feature change" is. Here is a Savannah ticket tracker query URL showing all Closed, Fixed, Feature change items with a planned release in 1.23.0. https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/index.php?go_report=Apply&group=groff&func=browse&set=custom&msort=0&report_id=223&advsrch=0&bug_id=&details=&summary=&submitted_by=0&resolution_id=1&assigned_to=0&vote=&privacy=0&bug_group_id=103&status_id=3&severity=0&category_id=0&plan_release_id=103&discussion_lock=0&sumORdet=0&chunksz=200&spamscore=5&boxoptionwanted=1#options Thanks in advance!
