I _did_ recommend them until recently, when one's scroll wheel failed and the next developed this fault with the left button. I'm now not sure what to think of Logitech. But I am a pretty convinced thumb-ball user; I resented the amount of desk space a mouse demanded as soon as I was exposed to one, and the requirement to pick up and reposition the thing always struck me as incredibly clumsy. But I'm also of the right generation to have encountered trackballs _before_ mice. On the bright side, if you find the newly rewritten man page for tbl pellucid, then that too will please me. I found tbl un-masterable until I rewrote the document.
