If you don't have the "U" foundry in your download file, but you do have the
default fonts, you could try:-
groff -T pdf -P-e
This tells gropdf to embed all fonts, including the 14 base type 1 fonts,
which includes Times Roman.
One way to add the URW fonts post groff install is to run the BuildFoundries
program after you have cd'd into the devpdf font directory. Within this
directory you should find a file called "Foundry". Make sure line 68 includes
the path to the URW fonts, then:-
BuildFoundries .
(Note the parameter of a full stop). This should regerate the download file
and add new fonts which start U-*, so Werners "-P-y -P-U" should work.
