Quite.  Nothing generated belongs in CVS;  that's for human-edited
source only as otherwise its usefulness for investigation and
understanding changes diminshes due to the noise.  CVS users have to
expect to need more than a shipped tar-ball requires.

tar-balls can be archived separately to record what was shipped to users
over time, including the configure produced by the developer's system at
that instant.
