Er, what?
I'm not aware that anybody reported "a broken groff".

As i happen to maintain the groff port on OpenBSD,
i'd like to know details:

 - Which version of OpenBSD are you using? -current, 5.0, 4.9?
Please provide the output of "sysctl kern.version".

 - Which version of groff are you running?
Please provide the output of "pkg_info groff"
   and "groff --version".

Unless you are trying to *build* the groff port using the MAKE_JOBS
variable for parallel building (as opposed to just using groff, or
even building the port the default way), i'm not aware that anything
is broken. Besides, don't build it yourself, use packages:
  http://www.openbsd.org/faq/faq15.html#Easy

What exactly are you trying to do, what do you expect to happen,
and what happens instead?

Please provide the exact commands you type and the exact output,
and explain what you don't like about that output.

Cheers,
  Ingo
