I try to avoid hacking the long-standing macro packages because there are almost always cases where _I_ have docs that depend on the buggy(?) behaviour and thus will break with my "improvement". And if not my own docs don't, I can bet someone else's do! When I do need something special or "improved" then I make my own macro and carry it around with me. I have my own MM macros that I have carried around for decades, going back to my days at Bell Labs. I worked two floors up from the folks that created MM and was one of the earliest users. (stories upon request) So if you don't want to use the \ idea, by all means create something of your own. -- Mike Bianchi Foveal Systems 973 822-2085 mbian...@foveal.com http://www.AutoAuditorium.com http://www.FovealMounts.com
