It's definitely not a limitation of the ELF format.

btw, my old IDE doesn't complain (yes, its the trusted "make" 8-}

Are you *really* sure that this is a limitation of the ELF format and
not a bug in the Eclipse IDE?  I simply can't believe that...

Using gdba under Emacs, it also works just fine.

Mhmm, doing this is a pain in the neck...  I really would like to
avoid that.  BTW, you are the first person who complains.
