I think no one will be hurt by increasing that number. Perfomance is no
issue since the number of results has to be calculated anyway (try
"Exception" on JBoss-user). Offering the links to the results would
allow users to leverage the CPU power that has been invested at the
server side. I think the deciscion should be left to the user if he
wants to go through  more than 100 results. Most of the time you can
determine an interesting posting from an uninteresting one with the
subject of the email. And believe me, if you fought with your
application server for 24 hours to get it running you have no problem
with investing 30 minutes to scan through 200 mails. But if the solution
for your problem is hidden from you and you discover that later, you
will just go nuts.
