When I submitted

        http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]

to Altavista for indexing, I got the following result:

   You have submitted the following URL:
       http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]

   The page was fetched in 3.805 seconds
   This page has been excluded because of META tags.
   The page, if already indexed, will be removed from the index.

   This URL has been recorded by our robot.

When I go to the actual URL (mail-archive), I find the following in
the HTML source of the index:

<META NAME="robots" CONTENT="noindex">

I'm no HTML expert, but it seems that this tag is preventing
well-behaved robots from indexing the page. I'm open to education if
this is not true.
