There were several hours of downtime on mail-archive.com over the weekend. After adding more main memory to the system, things became unstable and started crashing. Turned out to be bad memory chips. After returning the chips and getting a new set, the same thing happened again (albeit less frequently), also due to defective memory chips. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Morale: Change venders, and test new hardware in a separate machine before doing upgrades. Jeff
