Most recent devices support the geolocation API. Take a look here to find 
out more about specific versions of Android and iOS

You may also be interested in the location API provided by Telefonica's 
Bluevia https://bluevia.com/en/page/tech.APIs.LocationAPI that uses the 
network to obtain the coordinates.
