L'esempio pubblicato funziona così. La cosa forse diversa dal solito è che il kml contiene dei riferimenti esterni di file ed immagini che sono comunque contenuti nel kmz.
Negli esempi che ho trovato in kmz il path è sempre assoluto a risorse esterne. E' possibile mappare in un kmz un riferimento relativo ai file contenuti nel kmz? In questo caso il puntamento come deve essere?
