Thanks again Daniel. I read that there is a column limit in SpreadSheets so the transpose option wouldn't work for this as I could have a few thousand rows - do you know that to be the case?
I've got the first steps of your javascript option and managed to dump the Object into the console to look at. It's a hell of an object isn't it!? Do you have any examples of iterating through these objects that I could use as a guide? My concern with this method bringing back the whole spreadsheet in the first call - it might be 2000 rows and I imagine that would take a significant time?
