Dear all, Most of you must have heard of the recent "Sexual Abuse by Priests" stories. Although the vast majority of priests (over 99%) are good people, the minority has the media's attention. To help the innocent victims of abuse, Barbara Blaine, founded "Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP)". Visit http://www.survivorsnetwork.org. A number of nuns and lay sisters are actively involved with the group to help victims, 50% of SNAP members are women.
I spoke with Barbara Blaine today on the phone to congratulate her for her leadership in starting the group and helping the victims (some of whom you might have seen on televsion during the US Bishops meeting in Dallas). Like me, you may be fortunate not be immediately and directly impacted by the scandal but I urge you nevertheless to support this group.
