<Apologies for cross posting> Hello all,
The latest Unlocking Research blog discusses the results of a study done at Cambridge University towards the end of 2013 that looked at how the University could meet the compliance requirements of the RCUK open access policy. Recently the person who led the project, involving in depth interviews and ‘shadowing’ of academics during their work day, came to speak to members of the libraries at Cambridge and this blog summarises that talk. As well as links to several useful ‘day in the life’ graphics (included in the blog), the information included interesting facts like: Academics wear many hats - often juggling many jobs at once They have about 20 minutes at any given time to devote to a particular project Running a research group is like running a small company while remaining research active There are no natural touch points with the University during the publication process For more insights please read: https://unlockingresearch.blog.lib.cam.ac.uk/?p=515 <https://unlockingresearch.blog.lib.cam.ac.uk/?p=515> Regards Danny Dr Danny Kingsley Head of Scholarly Communications Cambridge University Library West Road, Cambridge CB39DR P: +44 (0) 1223 747 437 M: +44 (0) 7711 500 564 E: [email protected] T: @dannykay68 ORCID iD: 0000-0002-3636-5939
