The hello package seems unmaintained. What makes it seem that it is unmaintained?
Some bugs seem pretty important, http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-hello/2018-12/msg00000.html http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-hello/2018-11/threads.html It is not unreasonable that things take time, specially when it is over holidays. I think you should have patience.
