I'm moving from 5 years of MS Outlook sync'd to gmail where Outlook was
primary and my gmail domain sync'd all my devices. Have had recurring
minor problems with Outlook in this mode so am moving 100% to Gmail and
it's a learning experience! Just learned that ALL MAIL holds everything
and folders (view) just access that one copy. So delete an email in one
view and it's gone in all.

I have 25 years worth of family history and genealogy files in Outlook.
There a dozens of subfolders in Outlook by name and topic. All those name
and topic folders appear in Gmail along with all the emails, but none of
the emails appear in ALL MAIL. So, it seems to me I have to be very
careful how I abandon Outlook. I don't want to loose those 25 years, but
I'm not certain what to do.

Would appreciate any advice.

Mike
