Hi, Marko -- Well, that answers my question! And yet I can still do it
with my Gmail account using Postbox. But that doesn't help when I'm on a
different computer and just want to do email quickly. Not sure why my
workplace SMTP settings aren't working, though. Thanks, Dan

I redirect my work email to my Gmail account, where I have set up
a different identity. The other day I deleted my work identity and
then attempted to re-create it. It used to be that, by default,
you could use the Gmail SMTP server with any identity you owned.
This time it didn't seem to be an option. When I set up my
identity to use my workplace SMTP server, emails I sent started
bouncing -- not all of them, but many of them. Any idea what's
going on?
β It would seem that Google have removed the option to use the Gmail
SMTP servers for sending using other identities.β
