Thanks for the question. Since some time GitLab EE also checks
credentials on ssh access. Since a few versions ago GitLab EE includes
a periodic check for all users so that even when somebody doesn't try
to login they are still removed from the projects, this is called the
"Automatic Daily LDAP Sync"
