Yup... nvm, i didn't notice that it exported the files to the backup folder, then archived them with tar. the remote share seems to cause issues with tar. I just mounted the network share to /mnt/backups and part of the crontab job copy the files from /var/opt/gitlab/backups to /mnt/backups
