@alamb I was able to refactor this into a non-breaking change, there are no changes to the public API, just the behavioral changes which are positive and backwards compatible. So I think we can merge this immediately and queue up a PR to make any API improvements we want (e.g. https://github.com/apache/arrow-rs/pull/9628#discussion_r3022040191) as a followup to be released w/ next major version. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
