     If you are comfortable with screen manipulations, there may
be some other options:  writing backwards, ie. inserting lines at
the top of the screen then jumping down to the bottom; writing
forward, but jumping back to the top of the listing with 'at-xy'
( store the starting location, say, redefine 'words' :
    : words  gl-xy 2@ words at-xy ;
  --on android gforth your next keypress will take you back to the
bottom).
