Hi,
A quick side question following on from my question about the GWC integration.
Is it actually recommended to use GeoFence rather than the standard GeoServer
authentication and does GeoFence give many benefits such as being able to
permit GWC anonymous requests?
My logic is that the GWC does sometimes make requests to the GeoServer and that
whilst those requests are usually anonymous they should also be from the
localhost (I would think). Does the GeoFence allow me to add logic permitting
the requests on the basis of the internal origin thus allowing me to set strong
permissions but also have a fully functional GWC including the functions on the
GWC home page?
I currently just make caching requests using REST and provide the credentials
because the GWC home page doesn't work as you often can't provide the
authentication details.
Cheers,
Paul
