Hi,
Quick update, I've tracked it down to a possible problem with a JDBC database
connection for a user group. We have a set of user defined within our Oracle
database and there is a connection to the pickup the list defined with:
<driverClassName>sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver</driverClassName>
In the config file.
This webpage
(http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/technotes/guides/jdbc/bridge.html)
appears to say that the driver is discontinued as of Java 8 and this may
account for the error. The database source happens to provide our AuthKey's as
well so this would be a bigger issue for us.
Is there another driver I should be using or should I just make it a local user
group for now?

I've just updated to version 2.9.3 and that required an update of the Java JRE.
We are now getting java.io.IOException:
org.apache.commons.dbcp.SQLNestedException: Cannot load JDBC driver class
'sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver' errors.
I'm using ojdbc6.jar but does the error above indicate that the driver is no
longer supported?
We are still on Oracle 11g so I don't think I can use ojdbc7.jar but do I just
need to use the JDK rather than JRE?
