On page 24 it addresses the JPEG200 Kakadu format. Maybe that gives you some
info?

Subject: [Geoserver-users] ImageMosaic: missing geotiff reader?
Hi devs,
I've just installed the geoserver bundled with opengeosuite by opengeo and
trying ImageMosaic feature. What I get this "Could not list layers for this
store, an error occurred retrieving them: No input stream for the provided
source".
Attached the geoserver log (a clean session from the beginning) plus the info
for one of the TIFFs in the mosaic. As you can see at the beginning of the log,
when geoserver starts an error is shown while checking the readers:
2012-02-07 19:06:09,685 DEBUG [gce.imagemosaic] - Unable to load kakadu
JPEG2000
reader spi
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:
it.geosolutions.imageio.plugins.jp2k.JP2KKakaduImageReaderSpi
My guess that that error could be relevant to find out the bug I get when
trying
to create the mosaic. But I don't realized what is happening. Some help?
