Hi Folks,

Sorry about the html formating of previous post, here's a plain txt version...

Is there an easy way to have specific WMS layers NOT be visible when published.
It
seems that all layers are switched on by default, hence slow to draw if you
have a
huge list of layers.

To clarify, I have various layers grouped using the "Default WMS Path" setting
as
follows but I only want certain layers to be switch on when the group is added
to
the table of contents in ArcMap (or any other client). So, if a user wanted to
add
all the Administration layers they could just add the Administration group with
only the 250k layer visible by default and the other layers would be off to
speed
up load time. Obviously the user can switch the other layers on and off as
required
but this is just for a quick initial load.

Administration
    1:25k map sheet index (Off)
    1:50k map sheet index (Off)
    1:100k map sheet index (Off)
    1:250k map sheet index (On)
     ...

Geoscience
   500k Bedrock (On)
   500k Regolith (Off)
   500k Linear Structures (On)
   ...

Is it as simple as a "visibility" tag in the SLD that I'm missing or is there
another setting in Geoserver that will allow me to configure this?

Many thanks for help,

Tuyen
