Hi all,
I'm working with GeoServer since 2 months. I have started with the stable
version 2.0.2 running over an Ubuntu Server 64 bits 10.04.
Well, 2 days ago I started to work with a ShapeFile with more information
than my first tests and GeoServer have started to work in a strange manner
(config errors became one important part in this behavior). After I did some
fixes, I started to review the components of GeoServer paying attention
mainly in the version numbers.
Ok, The release notes of GeoServer 2.0.2 mention the use of GeoTools 2.6.4.
(
http://sourceforge.net/projects/geoserver/files/GeoServer/2.0.2/release-notes-2.0.2.txt
)
And here is the important part: GeoTools 2.6.4 is developed using JDK5 (
http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOT/1+Java+Install check the title "be
careful").
*- Could someone tell me which are the best settings for GeoServer?*
After my investigation I'm going to switch from JDK6 to JDK5 and continue
the development with more knowledge :D.
Regards
