The GeoServer printing extension uses MapFish's print service internally.
There is some information about how to get in touch with the mapfish
developers and download the source code on their trac wiki:
http://trac.mapfish.org/trac/mapfish
I believe we are actually using a slightly modified build of the print
servlet, so please ping this list again once your patch is in so that we can
integrate your changes.
