What was it running at the time? (Was it *truly* idle or was it just not running userspace applications?) Was this in X or on the command line? It it was in X, have you tried the Magic SysReq Keys (provided that you have that compiled into the kernel; there have been many threads on this mailing list with more details, you can search for it)? If you reboot, is there anything suspicious in /var/log? Is this recurring, or has it only happened this one time? Have you performed any software/firmware/hardware updates recently? These are just some of the questions that immediately pop into my head. If you provide more information, I'm sure the list can help you sort this out. Cheers, W -- Willie W.
