This does not work now. see 21sep09 thread: KDE menu missing with new kernel revdep-rebuild is clean. The system is synced up and only openoffice 3.1 gives building complaints. My kde environment is 4.2.4 (via sets) and it seems like I fix one problem and another arises..... aaaaaarrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh............. any ideas? James
