Prehaps you can run it via strace to see which ops (on which files) give
it permission errors just before crash?

  emerge -1 dev-util/strace && strace -f ooffice 2>strace.log
  grep -2 -e EACCES -e EPERM strace.log
  tail -500 strace.log | less (to see what happened last)
