(try to avoid top-posts in this mailing list) I think it has already been suggested: Use logrotate to keep your logs down to a sensible size. Also, you may want to empty ccache if you have it enabled. ccache -C will clear it out completely. My /var/tmp is around 886M, half of which is taken up by ccache at this moment in time.
