Exactly. That's exactly the point that I forgot to specify on my 1st message, hehehee. That's basically the main difference between them.

AFAICT, the use pattern for the two is different: The VMware Workstation user is expect to work primarily with the unemulated host OS and only secondarily with the emulated guest OS, whereas the VMware Server user is expected to work (exclusively?) with an emulated OS.

This means that most of the time the VMware Server user is running an application on an OS that itself is running on anther OS, whereas the VMware Workstation user is just running an application on an OS.
