In the days of LCD monitors do people still use that?  Anyway xdpyinfo
(or perhaps even xwininfo) should work.

xdpyinfo displays the dimensions/resolution, which is the native
resolution of the LCD monitor. But it says nothing about the refresh
rate in use...
