The 'atom' being each line.

Because you have specified a version number, you will need to tell it if
you mean just that version (=) or anything newer than that version (>=)

thus

www-client/mozilla-firefox-1.5.0.4

would become

>=www-client/mozilla-firefox-1.5.0.4
