Of particular interest: 119989 130766 Basically there is a change in behaviour when 089 is introduced so that it has the functionality of automatically probing for modules when it senses a device. The modules loading can be individually disabled through /etc/hotplug/blacklist When 090 is introduced it breaks some interaction with hotplug and now ignores even that blacklist.
