Hi list, using this page of the gentoo wiki http://gentoo-wiki.com/TIP_Console_Prompt i'm trying to use the /etc/issue file.
After having enabled the file in the /etc/ssh/sshd_config file with Banner /etc/issue file i've observed that effectively the system shows the "welcome" string. However i'm not seeing the effective system name, kernel etc.... but only this: This is \n.\O (\s \m \r) \t Password: it seems that the escape character is not correctly identified.
