I think I see what you are doing and I can't really think of a better way. It would depend on how much drive space your lappy has and if you can network them all up.
I'm on dial-up too. It sucks. I only get 26K here. I think I'll go have a good cry now. :( It took me a few nights, and days, to get Open Office, better known as OOo.
