AFAIK, if you have one already that is sufficient; otherwise Portage picks one (?). I typically use "portageq expand_virtual / <pkg>" to see what packages satisfy the virtual; for example: λ portageq expand_virtual / virtual/editor app-editors/vim -- D. Ben Knoble
