Can smartmontools handle SATA disks? I got the following messages when I tried to get SMART info from my disk: # smartctl -a /dev/sda smartctl version 5.33 [i686-pc-linux-gnu] Copyright (C) 2002-4 Bruce Allen Home page is http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net/ Device: ATA HTS541040G9AT00 Version: MB2I SATA disks accessed via libata are not currently supported by smartmontools. When libata is given an ATA pass-thru ioctl() then an additional '-d libata' device type will be added to smartmontools. -- Qiangning Hong http://www.hn.org/hongqn (RSS: http://feeds.feedburner.com/hongqn) Registered Linux User #396996 Get Firefox! <http://www.spreadfirefox.com/?q=affiliates&id=67907&t=1> Thunderbird! <http://www.spreadfirefox.com/?q=affiliates&id=67907&t=183> -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
