You can run them with strace to see if they are trying to access any pam modules, but I would think it unlikely. I bet this is something to do with the graphics drivers. Later versions of browsers are heavy on hardware acceleration and can stress some graphics drivers causing crashes like this. Geolocation and other pop ups use the GPU to create rendering effects and this could be the cause of the crash. PS. My wife's FF started crashing recently whenever she closes a single tab - but not every time. :-/ -- Regards, Mick
