I had the disastrous idea of trying to update kde 3.3 to 3.4 using the new split ebuilds. I tried to reduce bloat by emerging only what I thought I really use. Now I have lost ALL my normal user's preferences!!!!!
This is the kind of thing that can't be explained by a careless use of etc-update... The only thing I can think of is that I didn't emerge some package necessary to import preferences from previous version. Is there some solution?
