Oh, some suggestions: 1. Make sure your portage tree is up to date. 2. Make sure your use flags for virtual/udev and sys-apps/systemd are synced up. 3. Run equery d sys-fs/udev to see if you have any packages depending on it directly. 4. Add sys-fs/udev and sys-fs/eudev to /etc/portage/package.mask to see if you can get portage to emit a more useful message.
