Thanks, I just used this question to finally look up the man page of the euses command, which I thought would give the description of use flags. It turns out that it's simply 'euses pgo', which is much less to type than my usual 'grep :pgo /var/portage/tree/profiles/use.*'. Anyway, it returns that only firefox and torbrowser make use of this optimization for gcc-4.5. About the free inodes question, use df -i for that. Wonko
